Lunarcat is a Japanese proxy service.
Lunarcat purchases from any Japanese online store and arranges worldwide shipping.

Lunarcat will not purchase Pokemon cards from Pokemon Center Online.
Lunarcat will not enter Pokemon Center lotteries or take part in Amazon invitations for TCG cards.
Purchasing cards normally from marketplaces is fine.

What can be purchased and shipped

Most ordinary items can be purchased and shipped.
Many items that other services reject can also be purchased and shipped through Lunarcat.

Needs paperwork

Some items need paperwork to be exported or to clear customs.
These items can be shipped once the documents are prepared, and the service charge for the paperwork applies.

Domestic shipping only

Flammable items can be shipped domestically only.
These items are purchased only for domestic shipping or pickup from the Lunarcat office.

Batteries can ship overseas when contained inside a device.

Fees

Supported payment methods are PayPal (including Credit/Debit cards) and Wise.
Every charge is in JPY.

Fee logic

A purchase fee is charged on top of the item price and domestic shipping cost (if applicable).
The purchase fee is calculated as the greatest of the four values.

  • Per order: a minimum fee for each order.
  • Per unique item: a minimum fee for each line in your order.
  • Per parcel: a minimum fee for each parcel expected to be received.
    Details

    1. Flea market marketplaces (Mercari, Paypay Fleamarket, Rakuma)

    Each listing is sold and shipped separately.
    The per-parcel fee is based on the number of listings in the order.

    2. Booth

    Each store sells its items separately.
    When an order covers multiple Booth stores, the per-parcel fee is based on the number of different stores.

    3. Amazon, Rakuten, and most other marketplaces

    Items from these stores can arrive in separate parcels.
    Everything is still treated as one parcel.
    The per-parcel fee applies only once.
    Suruga-ya falls under this category.

    4. Exception: Mercari bundle

    On explicit request, the seller is asked to combine the listings.
    The whole bundle is treated as one listing, and the per-parcel fee applies only once.

    Not all bundle requests are granted.
    If the request is refused, the items are purchased separately and the per-parcel fee applies times the number of items.

    This exception applies to no other platform.
    Mercari is the only marketplace that provides a bundle request system.

  • Tier rate: a percentage of the item price.
    New users start at 15% and the rate drops with the user tier.

Discounts

High value item discount

Items above ¥50,000 have their value divided into intervals.
Higher intervals use a lower rate.

  • First ¥50,000 → tier rate
  • ¥50,001 – ¥200,000 → 10%
  • ¥200,001 – ¥300,000 → 9%
  • ¥300,001 – ¥400,000 → 8%
  • Above ¥400,000 → 7%

If your tier rate is lower than a bracket rate, the tier rate is used.

Example: a ¥250,000 item at the 15% tier is ¥50,000 × 15% + ¥150,000 × 10% + ¥50,000 × 9% = ¥27,000.

Wise discount

We provide a 2% discount for Wise payments.
The real saving reaches about 5.5%, since Wise avoids the PayPal exchange rate markup.

All calculations assume a new user at Tier 1 (Luna Basic I).

5 cheap items from Mercari

Assume the items are ¥500 each.
Each listing ships separately, so this is five parcels.

  • Per order: ¥600
  • Per unique item: ¥200 × 5 = ¥1,000
  • Per parcel: ¥500 × 5 = ¥2,500 ★
  • Tier rate: ¥2,500 × 15% = ¥375
5 items from Mercari (bundled from the same seller)

A granted bundle from the same seller is treated as one item and one parcel.

  • Per order: ¥600 ★
  • Per unique item: ¥200 × 1 = ¥200
  • Per parcel: ¥500 × 1 = ¥500
  • Tier rate: ¥2,500 × 15% = ¥375
5 items from Amazon

Items from Amazon are treated as one parcel.

  • Per order: ¥600
  • Per unique item: ¥200 × 5 = ¥1,000 ★
  • Per parcel: ¥500 × 1 = ¥500
  • Tier rate: ¥2,500 × 15% = ¥375
3 items from Mercari and 2 items from Amazon

The three Mercari listings ship separately and the two Amazon items count as one parcel, so this is four parcels.

  • Per order: ¥600
  • Per unique item: ¥200 × 5 = ¥1,000
  • Per parcel: ¥500 × 4 = ¥2,000 ★
  • Tier rate: ¥2,500 × 15% = ¥375
1 cheap item from Mercari

Assume there is one ¥500 item in an order.

  • Per order: ¥600 ★
  • Per unique item: ¥200 × 1 = ¥200
  • Per parcel: ¥500 × 1 = ¥500
  • Tier rate: ¥500 × 15% = ¥75
An expensive item

There is a high value item discount for any items exceeding ¥50,000.
The following calculation applies for a ¥250,000 item.

  • Per order: ¥600
  • Per unique item: ¥200 × 1 = ¥200
  • Per parcel: ¥500 × 1 = ¥500
  • Tier rate: (¥50,000 × 15%) + {(¥200,000 – ¥50,000) × 10%} + {(¥250,000 – ¥200,000) × 9%} = ¥27,000 ★

Lunarcat purchases from most websites.
Some businesses reject proxy services, so those may or may not be possible.

Are quotes available?

We do not provide quotes.
Please simulate the cost on the simulator.
The result is fully accurate when the correct values are entered.

Can you ship to my country?

As long as the shipping method is valid, shipping is available to your country.

Can I underdeclare my items to save on import fees?

Underdeclaration is not allowed.

Can items be consolidated into one parcel?

Yes.

Can you negotiate prices for me?

Negotiation is available only when the item value exceeds ¥100,000.
The maximum negotiation cap is 10%.
Lunarcat will not ask for Mercari bulk discounts unless the seller explicitly states that a bulk discount is available.

Can you ask a question to the seller for me?

This depends on the question.

Acceptable questions:

  • Requests to add photos
  • Questions about the item status

Questions that cannot be asked:

  • Item split requests, unless the seller explicitly states that a split is possible
  • Requests to cancel a completed sale so the item can be sold to you at a higher price
  • Whether the seller has more of the item in stock
